GOING FOR RADIO ADDS
 Steve Griggs
Tweed Funk
In his debut studio album titled “Fort Worth to Bakersfield” Steve’s songwriting reveals his roots, steeped in the influences of outlaw and traditional country and Americana music. His lyrics paint a picture of life - of both good-times and bad. Steve was recently released from federal prison after serving some 22 years on drug conspiracy charges. It’s easy to recognize, through these well-constructed songs, melodies, instrumentation, layered harmonies, style and lyrics, that Steve is comfortably at home and accompanied by some of the most talented musicians currently in the country music scene. While some of Griggs’ songs are light-hearted, like: “Lord, I shoulda’ known better”, others reflect the sometimes pure, hard truth of life, and may cut close to the bone, like: ”You Can’t Turn Back the Hands of Time”, “Prison Blues” or “You’ll never see me cryin’”. All these songs were written while Griggs served his prison sentence. Griggs’ unique life experiences provide him a full palate with which to paint his picture in song.

Soon after his release from prison, Steve recorded and released his well-received first single “Blinding Lights”. ‘Smokin’ Joe Murphy, Program Director of KBYG Radio in Big Springs, Texas, said: “Great song – a real Texas two-stepper”. Blinding Lights received similar accolades from country music insiders such as Dusty Wakeman (renowned Los Angelos producer/engineer and bass player); Chip Rau (Screaming Tiger Records, Los Angelos); Brian Whelan (Los Angelos singer/songwriter); James Hand (Texas singer/songwriter); The Iceman (Rhode Island DJ at Best Country Radio), and others. Blinding Lights charted in the top ten on ReverbNation and in the top 100 songs of 2015 on Best Country Radio. Griggs has shared the stage with country music greats such as David Frizzell, Shelly West, James Hand, Freddy Fender, Sean Allen (currently touring with Carlene Carter and Commander Cody) and many more.

Steve Griggs Band’s regular members reveal years of individual musical and stage experience and talent in the outlaw and traditional country, as well as Americana genres.
